Alto Metals continues to extend gold resource at Indomitable with latest promising assay results

The geology uncovered in the area suggests a 'large and fluid-rich mineralised system', which the company is eager to drill.

Alto Metals Ltd (ASX:AME)'s extensional drill campaign at Indomitable, conducted at the end of last year, has yielded significant gold results for the company.

The Indomitable deposit is part of the 900-square-kilometre Sandstone Gold Project in Western Australia. It forms part of the Indomitable Camp, which is currently defined over a 2-kilometre strike length within the north-west, south-east Indomitable/Vanguard/Havilah Trend that ranges over more than 20 kilometres and forms part of the priority ‘Alpha Domain’ target area.

“At Indomitable we have now defined mineralisation over a strike length of 500 metres, with numerous broad intersections of strong gold mineralisation, encountered from shallow depths, which remain open at depth and along strike," managing director Matthew Bowles said.

“Such an unusually deep weathering profile suggests the mineralisation structures at the Indomitable deposit are long‐lived and extensive, which is encouraging as it indicates the potential for a much larger system.”

Results will extend overall resource

The new assay results come from 22 step-out reverse circulation (RC) holes drilled at Indomitable across 3,074 metres drilled on a 40 by 40-metre spacing to an average downhole depth of 140 metres. Of the total 22 RC holes drilled, 21 intersected gold mineralisation.

The company conducted the drilling to test strike extensions of the high‐grade plunging shoots at the deposits and believes the results will extend the overall mineralisation outside the current resource, both along strike and at depth.

Significant historical aircore holes were followed with RC, for inclusion in future mineral resource work.

The Indomitable Camp currently has an inferred mineral resource of 1.7 million tonnes at 1.5 g/t gold for 74,000 ounces. These resources remain open along strike and at depth.

Extensional highlights

The company reports significant results from one‐metre fire assay, including:

➢ 21 metres at 2.0 g/t gold from 46 metres, including 1 metre at 14.9 g/t from 61 metres and including 1 metre at 6.3 g/t from 66 metres, and 11 metres at 2.5 g/t from 92 metres, including 2 metres at 7.0 g/t from 93 metres;

➢ 15 metres at 2.2 g/t from 44 metres, including 2 metres at 13.2 g/t from 45 metres, and 25 metres at 1.2 g/t from 65 metres, including 1 metre 11.5 g/t from 71 metres;

➢ 16 metres at 1.1 g/t from 76 metres, including 2 metres at 5.3 g/t from 83 metres, which ended in mineralisation;

➢ 24 metres at 0.7 g/t from 82 metres, including 4 metres at 2.2 g/t from 95 metres; and

➢ 29 metres at 1.0 g/t from 113 metres and 15 metres at 0.6 g/t from 154 metres, which ended in mineralisation.

The step‐out drilling also intersected a number of broad zones of lower‐grade ‘halo’ mineralisation, which is encouraging as it further suggests the Indomitable Camp is a large and fluid‐rich mineralised system. The results indicate that mineralisation continues to the northwest and remains open.

Results from the step-out drilling include 27 metres at 0.7 g/t from 78 metres, including 6 metres at1.8 g/t from 78 metres and 21 metres at 0.8 g/t from 125 metres, including 10 metres at 1.0 g/t from 136 metres.

“RC drilling is planned to commence in the next few weeks, we are looking forward to the results of the IP and gravity surveys and our mineral resource update remains on track for this quarter,” said Bowles.

“Our systematic approach to exploration is continuing to deliver and we are excited about what the year ahead can deliver for Alto shareholders.”
