Critical Resources granted approval for additional drilling to test extensional and depth potential at Gibsons

“These additional holes will allow us to further delineate the chalcopyrite mineralisation we intersected in Hole 11A and test geophysical anomalies at depth,” said managing director Alex Biggs.

Critical Resources Ltd (ASX:CRR) has received approval for 1,200 metres of additional drilling across three holes at its Gibsons prospect within the Halls Peak Project in New South Wales.

The company’s drill program is designed to test the extent of visual chalcopyrite seen in Hole 11A including the depth and extent of the geophysical anomalies consistent with the current exploration strategy at Halls Peak.

Moving forward, the recent approvals extend the original Gibsons program from 2,500 metres to 3,700 metres, before moving to Sunnyside for an additional proposed 1,700-metre drill program.

“Huge potential”

CRR managing director Alex Biggs said: “Extension of the drilling campaign at Gibsons is confirmation that we see huge potential in the Halls Peak project as a whole.

“These additional holes will allow us to further delineate the chalcopyrite mineralisation we intersected in Hole 11A and test geophysical anomalies at depth.

“We are excited to test the potential of the Gibsons prospect further and look forward to adding to the already impressive results we have seen so far.”

Drilling results

CRR's current drill program at Gibsons has delivered strong results including:

  • 12.45 metres at 10.91% zinc, 5.73% lead, 1.15% copper, 331.63g/t silver and 1.50g/t gold;
  • 5.30 metres at 26.29% zinc, 12.49% lead, 1.28% copper, 49.18g/t silver, 0.15g/t gold; and
  • 5.99 metres at 8.17% zinc, 4.33% lead, 0.84% copper, 25.36g/t silver, 0.13g/t gold.

All current exploration activities are focused on exploration licence EL 4474, with primary targets being the Gibsons and Sunnyside prospects.

Earlier this month, the company had launched a downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) survey for the Gibsons prospect at Halls Peak, seeking to identify off-hole conductors and geophysical anomalies for further investigation.

At present, DHEM surveying has been completed on holes 11A, 06 and 09 at Gibsons.
