Feedback PLC (AIM:FDBK) provided updates on the main two ongoing areas of focus for its Bleepa platform in year ahead: technology opportunities with the NHS and tuberculosis (TB) testing in India.
“TB screening from any location in India [is] a huge scalable opportunity,” Feedback chief executive Tom Oakley told Proactive after the company reported improved half-year revenues.
Using the Bleepa communication platform, X-rays taken in remote Indian locations can be shared via its patient-specific cloud platform, CareLocker, with clinical partners who can give a diagnostic result.
Oakley emphasised the fact that new technology can face many potential hurdles on its way to full acceptance.
“It's very important in healthcare that our shareholders in the wider market understand that a lot of these customers like to pilot and test solutions,” he added.
“Near-term milestones are really around getting these pilots live in both the community diagnostic setting and also in India,” Oakley commented.
As several of the contracts in India are government-controlled and the local preference is to award contracts to Indian partners, Feedback is making an effort to partner with the right companies in various territories to deploy its technology at scale.
After the company raised £11.2mln in November, Oakley said part of the proceeds are being used to help drive opportunities for Bleepa in the NHS.
Under the Community Diagnostic Hubs initiative the government aims to reduce the NHS elective care backlog by using diagnostic data to centralise it to the patient records, Oakley said.
Feedback has partnered up with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to use its cloud and it was Amazon’s funding that supported the roll-out of the initial pilot stages.
