Biocept Inc (NASDAQ:BIOC) announced that it has appointed Darrell Taylor as the company’s new senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer.
Biocept said Taylor will lead essential aspects of legal, compliance and privacy efforts, and will report to company CEO Michael Nall.
“Darrell’s strong leadership background and his combination of diagnostics industry experience and legal expertise makes him an excellent fit for Biocept,” Nall said.

“Darrell is a key addition to our executive team and will support our initiatives and goals, as we continue to advance our core oncology business and implement our COVID-19 testing program,” he added.
The company noted that Taylor brings more than 30 years of extensive healthcare and leadership experience to his new role at Biocept, including over 20 years as a healthcare attorney at the global law firm DLA Piper.
He most recently served as chief compliance officer for Precision Diagnostics.
Biocept develops and commercializes molecular diagnostic assays that provide physicians with clinically actionable information to aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of patients with cancer.
The company is also is leveraging its molecular diagnostic capabilities to offer nationwide RT-PCR-based COVID-19 testing and services to support public health efforts during the pandemic.
