Genel Energy PLC (LSE:GENL, OTC:GEGYY) told investors that the operator of the Tawke asset, DNO, is expects it will maintain gross production at around 105,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) during 2022.
Drilling at Tawke resumed in the third quarter of 2021 after eighteen months in which production decline was partially offset by gas injection and workovers only.
The field averaged 108,700 bopd over 2021, comprising 61,800 bopd at the Peshkabir field and 46,900 bopd at the Tawke field.
Some 7.6 billion cubic feet of gas produced at Peshkabir which would otherwise have been flared, releasing an estimated 461,500 tonnes of CO2, was injected into wells at the Tawke field, Genel noted.
