Benchmark Metals posts more positive results from Lawyers project, this time from Cliff Creek North

The latest assays come from seven infill and expansion drill holes and showed broad zones of bulk-tonnage and high-grade mineralization, along with the potential to expand the resource along the margins of the pit shell modelled in 2021

Benchmark Metals Inc. (TSX-V:BNCH, OTCQX:BNCHF) has posted further positive drill results from its flagship Lawyers gold and silver project in British Columbia, this time from the Cliff Creek North (CCN) area of the Cliff Creek deposit.

The latest assays come from seven infill and expansion drill holes and showed broad zones of bulk-tonnage and high-grade mineralization, along with the potential to expand the resource along the margins of the pit shell modelled in 2021.

"The Cliff Creek North area continues to provide more high-grade gold and silver material," said John Williamson, Benchmark CEO, in a statement. "The new results are filling gaps with tighter drill spacing that is demonstrating mineralization that will grow the forthcoming Mineral Resource Estimate."

"In addition, the high-grade, near surface mineralization is showing potential as an initial mining area (pit) that could significantly boost economics in the Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA)," he added.

Highlight results included an intercept, starting from a depth of 80.77 metres (m), of 30.48m at a grade of 8.96 grams per ton (g/t) gold and 233.04 g/t silver in one hole.

That included a length of 15.24m at 17.59 g/t gold also starting from 80.77m depth.

There was also a length of 153m at 1.24 g/t of the yellow metal starting from 187m depth in another hole.

At the Cliff Creek deposit, Benchmark has already defined a bulk-tonnage target in the range of 1.68 to 1.92 million ounces (Moz) of gold-equivalent at an average grade ranging from 1.71 g/t to 1.73 g/t.

And on January 31 this year, the company published reports from nine infill and expansion holes at the southern part called Cliff Creek South (CCS), which similarly showed broad zones of both bulk-tonnage and high-grade mineralization.

The Cliff Creek South area had been grown from a new gold-silver discovery at surface that now extended to 450 metres depth, Williamson had said.

The Cliff Creek North zone remains open and shows "strong continuity from surface to over 550m depth with potential for open pit as well as underground mining", the company said today.

Benchmark Metals is advancing its wholly-owned owned Lawyer's project, which sits in the prolific Golden Horseshoe of northern British Columbia, Canada. The project consists of three mineralized deposits that remain open for expansion, in addition to over 20 new target areas along a 20 km trend.
