Mining

Red River Resources set to bolster Hillgrove resource with high-grade hits including 14.5 metres at 3 g/t gold and 1.1% antimony

Hillgrove has an existing mineral resource of 7.23 million tonnes at 4.5 g/t gold and 1.2% antimony and RVR continues to build this resource aiming at a larger-scale, longer life operation.

Red River Resources Limited (ASX:RVR) has received further high-grade gold and antimony intersections from four holes at Eleanora-Garibaldi within the company’s Hillgrove Gold Project in northern New South Wales.

Notably, these high-grade intersections within broader mineralised zones are encouraging and continue to build confidence to transition Hillgrove from a historical narrow vein project into a larger-scale gold operation.

Strong results from Eleanora-Garibaldi include:

  • 14.5 metres at 3.0 g/t gold and 1.1% antimony from 22.5 metres downhole;
  • 26.0 metres at 0.6 g/t gold and 0.1% antimony from 131 metres downhole; and
  • 36 metres at 0.6 g/t gold and 0.2% antimony from 7 metres downhole.

Looking ahead, Red River has eight holes completed awaiting assays and two rigs that continue drilling at Hillgrove.

Drilling at Eleanora-Garibaldi

Red River has received assays for drill holes ELG161 to ELG164 in its follow-up Eleanora-Garibaldi drill program.

The holes intersected three parallel lodes of structurally controlled gold-antimony dominated mineralisation.

These north-south striking, near-vertical lodes from west to east include the Main Lode, a southern continuation of the main Eleanora system, the Central Lode and the East Lode.

Forward plan

Red River is waiting on results from one additional hole at Eleanora-Garibaldi and will schedule more drilling here following review and the testing of other potential targets throughout the Hillgrove Project.

Currently, two diamond drill rigs continue to target the Sunlight mineral resource area and the Cosmopolitan prospect.

Results from the final Eleanora-Garibaldi hole, two holes drilled at the historic Freehold Mine area and five holes drilled at the Sunlight resource area are expected during the March 2022 quarter.

Notably, Red River continues to work towards the restart of underground mining at Hillgrove’s Syndicate deposit and negotiations are progressing with potential mining partners.

Furthermore, modifications of the antimony processing circuit are complete and ready to commission while discussions with potential offtake partners are advancing
