Miramar Resources identifies multiple large EM anomalies at Mt Vernon target of Bangemall Nickel-Copper-PGE Project

“These results are exactly what we would have hoped to see from this survey, validate our views on the prospectivity of this project and give us numerous targets for follow-up work," says chair.

Miramar Resources Ltd (ASX:M2R)’s versatile time domain electromagnetic (VTEM) surveying has identified 13 large, late-time electromagnetic (EM) conductors at the Mt Vernon target of the Bangemall Nickel-Copper-PGE (platinum group elements) Project in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia.

Mt Vernon is one of several exploration licences making up the Bangemall Project, which Miramar believes is prospective for nickel-copper-PGE mineralisation and may also contain rare earth elements (REE).

Preliminary data from the VTEM Max survey delineated 13 EM anomalies that Miramar believes may indicate the presence of bedrock nickel-copper-PGE sulphides associated with dolerite sills, increasing the prospectivity of the project.

“Numerous targets for follow-up”

Miramar Resources executive chair Allan Kelly said the company was very excited about the results of the survey and looked forward to following them up on the ground.

“We’ve outlined a number of large late-time EM anomalies, apparently associated with nickel, copper and PGE anomalism, in a virtually unexplored area,” Kelly said.

“These results are exactly what we would have hoped to see from this survey, validate our views on the prospectivity of this project and give us numerous targets for follow-up work.”

Miramar is now awaiting the final data gleaned from the surveys, which will be modelled to determine which of the anomalies is most prospective for mineralisation.

Future work will involve field-checking anomalies, surface geochemical sampling and prospecting, and a ground EM survey intended to define potential drill targets.
