American Manganese poised to add China to its global patent portfolio

"China is the largest market for electric vehicles, with an adoption rate that leads the global markets today," said Larry Reaugh, CEO of American Manganese, who also noted the Chinese New Year celebrations

American Manganese Inc. (TSX-V:AMY, OTCQB:AMYZF), the company which upcycles lithium-ion battery waste into battery materials, said it has further bolstered its global patents as China is set to become the fifth country in its portfolio.

The Chinese patent office has issued the company with a 'Notice of Allowance' for the company’s National Phase Patent Application for its technology RecycLiCo.

"China is the largest market for electric vehicles, with an adoption rate that leads the global markets today," said Larry Reaugh, CEO of American Manganese. "They have a mature lithium-ion battery industry with great innovators and some of the world's largest battery manufacturers. Therefore, we are proud to have our lithium-ion battery recycling process recognized as a novel invention by the Chinese Patent Office."

"The battery recycling industry needs advanced, practical, and efficient battery recycling technology, and securing patents for our novel process is a critical step for AMY to expand its global presence as innovative leaders," he added.

Reaugh also told investors: "The team is currently on pace with the demonstration plant assembly, and we will continue to communicate further updates as they are received."

When formally issued, the Chinese patent will join the company's portfolio, which comprises the USA, South Korea, Japan and India. The company also has a 'Notice of Allowance' for Canada.

American Manganese has also filed National Phase Patent Applications for Australia and the Europe Union.
