Radiopharm Theranostics targets rapid growth with appointment of Hester Larkin as director

Larkin will bring big pharma and nuclear medicine expertise, as well as corporate leadership know-how, to the non-executive role.

Radiopharm Theranostics Ltd (ASX:RAD) has appointed pharmaceutical industry expert Hester Larkin to its board as a non-executive director.

Larkin starts in the role tomorrow, bringing 30 years of experience in pharmaceuticals and nuclear medicine to bear.

She has worked across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and has more than 12 years of experience in senior leadership roles in the industry.

Business growth is bound to be a particular focus during her tenure, given her experience in governance, risk, acquisitions, mergers, licensing and divestitures.

“Hester’s impressive leadership capabilities and her extensive background in the pharmaceuticals and medical imaging industry make her a valuable addition to our Board of Directors as we steer Radiopharm through a pivotal period of innovation and growth,” RAD CEO Riccardo Canevari said.

Biotech expertise

Larkin brings a proven track record of delivering significant corporate revenues and earnings and leading successful product launches of proprietary pharmaceuticals and imaging agents in oncology, cardiology, neurology and HIV.

Her project expertise covers a range of biotech activities including pre-clinical and clinical work, EMA submission, EU medical advisory boards, EU manufacturing and commercial partnerships.

She was a business consultant at the Cardiac Imaging Department, Wellington Hospital, when it launched the first Electron Beam CT (EBCT) centre. Prior to this, she was EMEA general manager BMS Medical Imaging at Bristol-Myers Squibb and had a 19-year career at DuPont (NYSE:DD) Pharmaceuticals holding a range of Europe-focused senior roles.

Larkin was the first non-American woman to be appointed as managing director and vice president UK and Ireland for DuPont (NYSE:DD) Pharmaceuticals, and for seven years chaired an industry working group on nuclear medicine awareness for Nuclear Medicine Europe – The Industry Association, formerly AIPES.

Legal and consulting background

A lawyer by trade, with a Bachelor of Laws from London University and a Bachelor of Psychology from Queens University in Belfast, she is also qualified leadership coach.

Larkin currently manages Hester Larkin Associates Consulting, delivering consultancy services to diagnostic imaging, pharmaceutical and biotech companies.

She has held several board director and trustee positions in the UK and Belgium and currently sits on the boards of three charities.
