Cryptocurrencies were beginning to rise Tuesday morning on the first day in February, after a bleak January. While losses in January for Bitcoin accumulated to more than 18%, Bitcoin rose just over 1% to around the $38,900 level, while Ether, has gained a little over 5% to the $2,770 level. India’s Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced Tuesday the country will launch a digital rupee by March 2023, giving a ‘big boost to the economy. In addition, Sitharaman said the country would implement a 30% tax on virtual assets, including on NFTs, cryptocurrencies and other virtual digital assets.
