Benchmark Metals unveils more positive drill results from Cliff Creek deposit at Lawyers asset

The assays come from nine infill and expansion holes at the southern part of the Cliff Creek deposit named Cliff Creek South and showed broad zones of both bulk-tonnage and high-grade mineralization

Benchmark Metals Inc has released more drill results from its flagship Lawyers gold and silver project in British Columbia, which it said augur well for a potential mining operation there.

The assays come from nine infill and expansion holes at the southern part of the Cliff Creek deposit named Cliff Creek South (CCS) and showed broad zones of both bulk-tonnage and high-grade mineralization.

Highlights included an intercept of 177.2 metres (m) starting at 176m depth, which returned 1.73 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 117.87 g/t silver. Within that length, there was an 8.2m section from 337.8m depth, which hit 23.83 g/t gold.

"Benchmark has grown the Cliff Creek South area from a new gold-silver discovery at surface that now extends to 450 metres depth," explained Benchmark Metals CEO John Williamson in a statement. "The entire Cliff Creek deposit remains open at depth with significant high-grade material. Expansion and infill drilling at the south end of the Cliff Creek Deposit continues to generate significant, long intersections of gold-silver mineralization."

"Drilling is providing continuity and extending gold-silver mineralization to greater depths. The CCS area is providing optionality for open pit mining and/or underground mining that holds bulk tonnage high-grade gold and silver material at depth," Williamson added.

Other drill highlights reported were 124m from 372m depth at 1.21 g/t gold and 30.70 g/t silver in another hole.

At the Cliff Creek deposit, the firm has already defined a bulk-tonnage target in the range of 1.68 to 1.92 million ounces (Moz) of gold-equivalent at an average grade ranging from 1.71 g/t to 1.73 g/t.

The company has also reported high-grade intercepts from the Cliff Creek North area -a sub-zone of the more than 1.2 kilometre (km) Cliff Creek Zone, while the Cliff Creek Mid Zone has also been expanded at depth and also to the east.

Benchmark Metals is advancing its wholly-owned owned Lawyer's project, which sits in the prolific Golden Horseshoe of northern British Columbia, Canada. The project consists of three mineralized deposits that remain open for expansion, in addition to over 20 new target areas along a 20 km trend.
