Quadrise Fuels boosted as ‘outstanding’ test results show bioMSAR reduces NOx and CO2 emissions

The tests compared the company’s bioMSAR fueld with diesel and was used in a high-speed 4-stroke diesel engine generating set.

Quadrise Fuels International PLC (AIM:QFI) has announced what it calls outstanding results from the latest test of its bioMSAR cleaner fuel product.

Testing at an Aquafuel Research facility in the UK confirmed engine efficiency benefits of 3% and reductions of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions of over 20%, compared to diesel fuel.

Moreover, the results show that as a result of advancing injection timing (since a previous test a year ago) engine efficiency can be increased by over 13% which further reduces fuel consumption and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.

The company noted meanwhile that ordinarily higher engine efficiencies result in increased combustion temperatures and NOx emissions, but, the AquaFuel tests showed that inlet air temperatures were kept o the same level as diesel – in turn further reducing NOx levels to 45% below a diesel comparison.

"We are pleased to obtain these outstanding results for bioMSAR™, providing further technical endorsement of the potential of the fuel,” said chief executive Jason Miles.

“The higher engine efficiency and lower emissions evidenced by Aquafuel's testing are highly attractive features for all future clients of bioMSAR™, particularly those with ambitious decarbonisation targets.

“These results support our plans for larger-scale bioMSAR™ testing this year, and ultimately commercialisation."

In London, Quadrise shares advanced around 17% in Monday's early deals to change hands at 2.35p.
