KNeoMedia Ltd (ASX:KNM) (OTCMKTS:KNEOF) has been hard at work over the December quarter, continuing to roll out the Connect ALL Kids initiative across New York City and pursuing new opportunities in Florida.
The company’s software-as-a-service model of education tools are now available in more than 80 public schools throughout New York City (NYC) and State, becoming a reference point and offering validation for other schools looking to deploy the program.
During the quarter the company netted A$329,000 in revenue from the third deployment of its KneoWorld software Connect ALL Kids, receiving a further US$260,000 in funding from the Connect ALL Kids funding scheme which is backed by New York City Councillor commitments.
Connect ALL Kids program
Connect ALL Kids is an education initiative with a mission to provide education technology and content for every public-school student no matter their academic ability.
Created through a partnership between the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), Dell Technologies and KneoWorld Inc (subsidiary of KneoMedia), the program is designed to give students access to the tools to help them learn, thereby ensuring education equity for all.
A growing number of schools across the New York City public school system are now deploying the KneoWorld platform, with significant resources allocated to ensure the maximum number of schools have been onboarded with the KneoWorld software.
COVID-19 has exacerbated the need for content to be available through online formats, meaning New York public schools will likely continue to seek out hybrid platforms like KneoWorld.
KNM says it will continue to invest in the KneoWorld platform and is actively working with NYC Department of Education (DOE) to ensure content aligns with the requirements of the DOE and the local environment.
In addition, the Connect ALL Kids initiative has been further enhanced and validated by the Queens College GLOBE NY Metro Partnership agreeing to participate in the program.
This provides opportunities to connect with educationally disadvantaged children across the Five Boroughs in New York City with the goal of accelerating competencies in areas of Science, Technology Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), obtainable through the broad adoption of Connect ALL Kids’ innovative programs, processes, and strategies.
New York City leadership changes
KNM is pleased to welcome Eric Adams as New York City Mayor, highlighting that his commitment to education equality in New York was a centrepiece of his campaign for mayor.
The company believes this leadership change bodes well for the Connect ALL Kids education initiative, given that the NAACP, a Connect All Kids participant, has had active and regular engagement with Mayor Adams and the newly appointed NYC DOE Chancellor David Banks.
KneoMedia says the feedback from the NAACP and from existing NYC DOE contacts suggests that support for the broader deployment of Connect All Kids into more New York City public schools is very strong.
