Meeka Gold delivers 24 metres at 4.81 g/t gold at St Anne's, supports further exploration drilling

The results support its view that the highly prospective Fairway trend extending over 5 kilometres from Turnberry in the north to St Anne’s in the south holds significant mineral endowment that is yet to be fully demonstrated.

Meeka Gold Ltd (ASX:MEK)’s St Anne’s Prospect drilling has delivered shallow thick gold intercepts 3.5 kilometres south of the 610,000-ounce Turnberry mineral resource, supporting further exploration drilling which is scheduled to recommence in February.

The results support the company’s view that the highly prospective Fairway trend extending over 5 kilometres from Turnberry in the north to St Anne’s in the south holds significant mineral endowment that is yet to be fully demonstrated.

Results have been received for six of the eight holes drilled at St Anne’s during Phase 2. The company is awaiting results for the final two holes.

Significant mineral endowment

Meeka Gold Ltd (ASX:MEK) CEO Tim Davidson said: “These drilling results continue to support our view that the highly prospective Fairway trend extending over 5 kilometres from Turnberry in the north to St Anne’s in the south holds significant mineral endowment that is yet to be fully demonstrated.

“The Turnberry mineral resource strikes over 1.5 kilometres and we now have mineralisation identified at St Anne’s over a strike length of 500 metres.

“We plan to follow up on today’s results with further drilling along strike to the north and south, commencing in February.”

St Anne’s results

St Anne’s prospect forms part of the company’s Murchison Gold Project.

The new results returning broad zones of gold mineralisation include:

➢ 24 metres at 4.81 g/t gold from 68 metres including 4 metres at 20.30 g/t;

➢ 36 metres at 1.02 g/t from 24 metres including 8 metres at 2.35 g/t;

➢ 8 metres at 2.66 g/t from 104 metres including 1 metre at 16.45 g/t; and

➢ 4 metres at 1.22 g/t from 52 metres.

St Anne’s does not have a reported mineral resource but the results are extremely positive and support further exploration drilling scheduled to commence shortly.

The St Anne’s mineralisation consists of quartz veining and pyrite alteration as seen at Turnberry and occurs on a geological contact between mafic dolerite and sedimentary shales.

Both rock type’s host mineralisation at Turnberry with the dolerite generally hosting better continuity of mineralisation and higher grades.

Mineralisation at St Anne’s is currently identified over 500 metres of strike and remains open to the north and south.
