Aurania Resources Ltd, which is exploring the Awacha target area at its Lost Cities-Cutucu project in southeastern Ecuador, said “there appears to be a large porphyry body and possibly others” at the site. Meanwhile, the company said chairman and CEO Keith Barron will be assuming the role of president moving forward. Barron is presently on the ground in Ecuador and is taking the reins of the company's COVID-19 response.

Esports Entertainment Group Inc is reshuffling its C-suite with the addition of Stuart Tilly as the gaming company’s new chief operating officer. Tilly previously held the role of chief legal officer at the esports firm.

Red Cloud Securities initiated coverage of Altaley Mining Corp with a ‘Buy’ recommendation. “Over the past two years, Altaley has steadily increased production and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) quarter-on-quarter while undergoing a transformation that included a revamped board and management team, financial restructuring, project optimizations, and corporate rebranding – in addition to building Tahuehueto,” the analysts said. They further noted, “Given that Altaley is poised to derive approx 53% of its revenues from gold and silver by 2023E, we believe its transition to being a primary precious metals producer could potentially drive a re-rating.”

Fobi AI (TSX-V:FOBI, OTCQB:FOBIF) Inc, a provider of real-time data analytics through artificial intelligence, signed a deal on January 17 this year to provide Abbot’s Butcher, a premium plant-based protein brand, with Fobi’s Qples coupon platform. Abbot’s Butcher is an up-and-coming plant-based protein company that champions sustainability and health. It has a growing retail footprint that stretches into over 800 retail and food service locations across the US, including Whole Foods Market. Vancouver-based advanced technology company Fobi said that customer-centric Abbot’s Butcher was looking to offer digital coupons to add value and make it easier for their customers to redeem their coupons.

Heritage Cannabis Holdings Corp (CSE:CANN, OTCQX:HERTF) has announced that Spectrum Therapeutics – one of Canada’s largest online medical cannabis platforms – is offering Heritage products including its brands RAD, Premium 5, and CB4, which will be the first third-party cannabis extract and concentrate offerings on the platform. “Spectrum is a leader when it comes to revenue and market share in the online medical cannabis space and having Heritage products recognized by a market front-runner is a true nod to our products and company,” said David Schwede, CEO of Heritage in a statement.

Thesis Gold Inc (TSX-V:TAU) told investors that it has identified numerous new targets at its wholly-owned Ranch gold project in British Columbia, underscoring the discovery potential at the 180 square kilometre (km2) asset. The new targets come after a 4.1 km2 induced polarization (IP) survey was carried out at the property, which is in the famous Golden Horseshoe area. Notably, numerous new epithermal targets were identified at Alberts Hump, which had similar characteristics to the already drill-tested, high-grade mineralization at the Bonanza, Thesis II, Thesis III, and Ridge prospects. "The company continues to generate new targets in the underexplored regions of the property, demonstrating the untapped discovery potential at Ranch," said Thesis Gold CEO Ewan Webster in a statement.

Algernon Pharmaceuticals Inc, the drug repurposing group, said the Canadian patent office has approved its application for a claim involving its drug Ifenprodil for treating idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The patent was entitled 'Compositions and Methods for Treating Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis' and Algernon said it has also filed corresponding patent applications in the US, Europe, China, and Japan. "This is the first allowance notice received by the company for one of its drugs being investigated under its innovative drug repurposing program and it is another important step forward," said Christopher J Moreau, the CEO of Algernon in a statement.

World Copper Ltd (TSX-V:WCU, OTCQB:WCUFF) and Cardero Resource Corp (TSX:CDU) have provided an update on the previously announced plan of arrangement to combine their businesses. The closing of the arrangement is now anticipated to occur on January 28, 2022 (today). Effective at the close of trading on January 27, the common shares of Cardero (CDU Shares) were halted pending the completion of the arrangement. After the market's close on January 31, 2022, the CDU Shares will also be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV).

Silvercorp Metals Inc (TSX:SVM, AMEX:SVM) has reported additional high-grade intercepts from its 2021 exploration program at the TLP mine, which is part of its flagship Ying Mining District project in the Henan province of China. The Canadian mining company said that extensive exploration drilling and tunneling is currently underway at its TLP mine and all the other mines which are part of its Ying project. From June 1 to December 31, 2021, Silvercorp said 43,573 metres (m) were drilled across 276 diamond drill holes, including 218 underground holes and 58 surface holes at the TLP mine. Assay results for 270 holes have been received, with 202 holes intercepting mineralization, according to the company.

Goldshore Resources Inc (TSX-V:GSHR, OTCQB:GSHRF) has announced gold assay results from holes MMD-21-006 and MQD-21-009, which it said continue to validate gold mineralization from the Moss Lake Gold Deposit in northwest Ontario. "As we have previously reported, we continue to produce drill results that confirm the historical resource estimate modeled in 2013, and significant extensions outside of the historical resource,” said Goldshore CEO Brett Richards in a statement. “As well, we are discovering additional parallel zones that we think will improve the project economics by replacing waste material in a design pit with mineralized blocks. The fact that we are continuing to intersect gold mineralization outside of the volume modeled in 2013 also affirms our belief that the deposit is significantly larger than previously interpreted," he added.

Clean Air Metals Inc (TSX-V:AIR, OTCQB:CLRMF) said it has concluded a review of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors related to resource development at its Thunder Bay North project in Ontario. The ESG report was prepared by Onyen using data supplied by Thunder Bay-based Clean Air Metals. The company’s flagship asset is the 100%-owned, high-grade Thunder Bay North project, a platinum, palladium, copper, nickel project located near the city of Thunder Bay and the Lac des Iles Mine owned by Impala Platinum.

Progressive Planet Solutions Inc (TSX-V:PLAN) announced that it has engaged the Bank of Montreal (BMO) to underwrite the debt component of its proposed acquisition of Absorbent Products Ltd (APL). The company said it has received terms from BMO to provide C$8,683,000 in total new secured debt under three separate loan facilities including: $723,000 loan facility at prime plus 1.75% for a period of six years; $990,000 loan facility at prime plus 1.25% for a period of five years; and $6,970,000 loan facility at prime plus 0.75% for a period of 25 years. “Today marks another important milestone for Progressive Planet, having engaged Bank of Montreal to underwrite the debt component of the consideration,” Progressive Planet CEO Steve Harpur said in a statement.

Champion Gaming (TSX-V:WAGR) Group Inc has announced the appointment of Ishwara Glassman Chrein to the company’s board of directors, effective January 27, 2022. Champion said Glassman Chrein, who has nearly 20 years of sports and media experience, brings additional industry and strategic expertise to the company. “We are very excited to welcome Ishwara to our board,” Champion Gaming (TSX-V:WAGR) CEO Ken Hershman said in a statement.

TPCO Holding Corp - The Parent Company (OTCQX:GRAMF, NEO:GRAMU) - has announced that certain insiders have individually voluntarily entered into a twelve-month extension of lock-up agreements with the company. The agreements are with respect to an aggregate of over 34 million shares of common stock, or approximately 35% of the total issued and outstanding shares of common stock of the company as of January 28, 2022. Under the agreements, the Insiders have agreed to lock up the common shares that they directly own or over which they exercise control or direction through January 28, 2023. The Insiders are comprised of the entire board of directors, Michael Auerbach, Carol Bartz, Al Foreman, Leland Hensch, Daniel Neukomm, Jeffry Allen, and Desiree Perez, and The Parent Company (OTCQX:GRAMF, NEO:GRAMU)'s leadership team, including Troy Datcher, chief executive officer, Mike Batesole, chief financial officer, as well as additional senior team members. Electric Royalties Ltd (TSX-V:ELEC, OTC:ELECF) said the TSX Venture Exchange has accepted for filing documentation pertaining to a royalty purchase agreement dated December 15, 2021, between the company, and Scandinavian Resource Holdings Pty. Ltd. (Casper Peterson, Jeroen Van Gool, Martin Blakeman and Winton Willesee) and Global Energy Metals Corp (TSX-V:GEMC). (collectively the vendors), whereby the company acquired a 1.0% net smelter return royalty relating to four exploration licences covering 25 square kilometres in the Rana mafic-ultramafic intrusion in northern Norway. Under the terms of the agreement, the company acquired the royalty by: (i) making $100,000 in cash payments; and (ii) issuing two million shares on closing.
