Tempus Resources expands Blue Vein discovery at flagship Elizabeth Project with second bonanza-grade gold hit

"We’re very excited to have this result approximately 40 metres along strike from the Blue Vein discovery hole (EZ-21-12) that we announced four months ago, which was also bonanza grade,” says CEO.

Tempus Resources Ltd (ASX:TMR, TSX-V:TMRR) has made strong drilling progress including a second bonanza grade gold intersection at the Blue Vein discovery within its Elizabeth-Blackdome Gold Project in southern British Columbia, Canada.

The latest assays from the Phase 1 drill program include:

  • 13.4 g/t gold over 2.70 metres from 111 metres, including 71.3 g/t over 0.50 metres from EZ-21-25 at Blue Vein; and
  • 1.83 g/t over 4.10 metres from 145 metres, including 4.98 g/t over 0.70 metres from EZ-21-23 at SW Vein.

Looking ahead, assays from five additional drill holes, including two from the Blue Vein discovery, remain pending.

“High-grade continuity”

Tempus president and CEO Jason Bahnsen said: “EZ-21-25 being reported today shows high grade continuity of the newly discovered Blue Vein, including a bonanza-grade sub-intersection.

"We’re very excited to have this result approximately 40 metres along strike from the Blue Vein discovery hole (EZ-21-12) that we announced four months ago, which was also bonanza grade.

“We are also delighted with the mineralised intersection in EZ-21-23, which continues to develop the mineralised package at the SW Vein.

“We are now awaiting for assay results for five additional drill-holes from the 2021 drilling program including two that targeted the Blue Vein.”

Drilling at Blue Vein

The Blue Vein was discovered through drill hole EZ-21-12 that returned an intersection of visible gold that assayed 33.7 g/t over 1-metre from 117.8 metres.

The new EZ-21-25 result, expands the known high-grade gold mineralisation at Blue Vein approximately 40 metres along strike from the discovery hole.

Furthermore, this structure has been intersected to about 100 metres depth and remains open along strike and down plunge.

Drilling at SW vein

Meanwhile, drilling at SW Vein is proving this to be within a very consistent structure intersected in each of the drill holes targeting the vein.

The deep intersections of the SW Vein are encouraging and geologically very significant as the vein continues at depth, as does the alteration and associated mineralisation as identified in other high-grade intercepts from this vein.

This mineralisation at depth is consistent with typical Mesothermal/Orogenic gold deposits, such as the Bralorne-Pioneer Gold mine 30 kilometres to the south of Elizabeth and is confirmed with the ICP-OES assay analysis which indicates elevated arsenic, antimony, silver and mercury when intersecting the SW Vein at depth.

About Elizabeth Gold Project

Elizabeth Gold Project is the flagship project for Tempus and is in the Bralorne–Pioneer Gold District of southern British Columbia.

The 115 square kilometre project is a relatively underexplored high-grade mesothermal gold project with mineralisation presenting itself in vein sets that range in true width from 0.5 metres to 6.5 metres.

The high-grade quartz veins encountered in the drilling at Elizabeth show close geological similarities to the Bralorne-Pioneer mesothermal vein system approximately 30 kilometres south, which was mined to a depth of about 2,000 metres and produced more than 4 million ounces of gold over more than 70 years from around 1900.
