The International Monetary Fund has called on El Salvador to stop accepting Bitcoin as legal tender. The IMF argued El Salvador’s Bitcoin-backed bonds announced in November 2021 carry significant risk, while worries surrounding stability, consumer protection, and integrity means urgent regulation is required.
FTX U.S has raised $400 million in a Series A fundraising round. Investors include Japan's SoftBank Group Corp and Singapore's Temasek Holdings, giving the group a valuation of $8 billion. FTX said the raise will allow it to focus on user acquisition, bolster its derivatives business, seek out strategic acquisitions, and hire talent.
