East Star Resources assays return high and bonanza gold grades at Apmintas

High and bonanza gold grades were measured in initial assays from the September drill programme.

East Star Resources Plc (LSE:EST) has released its first batch of assay results from September’s drilling in the Apmintas licence, in central Kazakhstan.

The drilling, in the Chu-Ili gold belt, returned high grades of 4.51 grams per tonne across 63 metres starting from surface, with up to 14.35 g/t over a 19 metres at a depth of 44 metres. This ‘discovery hole’ ended still in the mineralisation, leaving it open at depth.

It is described as a vein system with stockwork style mineralisation. It begins at surface and is seen to extend deeper, beneath depths mined by artisanals.

Results from other holes in the initial programme counted four higher grade veins, one of which included a bonanza grade zone which measured 131.4 g/t gold in two metres.

"We are delighted to report outstanding high-grade intersections from the first set of assay results received from our 51-hole September 2021 drilling programme,” said chief executive Alex Walker.

“Data from an ultra-high resolution drone-based survey flown in September 2021 is currently being processed to determine strike extent and direction and will be used in planning follow-up diamond drilling exploration expected to commence in Q2 2022."
