Burcon NutraScience Corporation announced that it has expanded its intellectual property portfolio through the filing of five additional US patent applications covering technologies for the production of sunflower seed protein and pulse proteins. The company said the patent filings also cover the unique protein ingredients produced from those technologies.

Analysts at HC Wainwright repeated their 'Buy' rating on Predictive Oncology Inc and $5 price target, noting that the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) platform has executed “important early steps” and demonstrated “promising predictive capability". Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Predictive Oncology’s subsidiary Helomics announced initial results in August last year showing that its AI-driven models of genomic data can predict cancer outcomes. Working on data from the 100,000 Genomes Project (100KGP) in Genomics England’s National Genomic Research Library (NGRL), Helomics developed an AI-driven model that can predict survival rates for ovarian cancer patients post-treatment. “Using a machine learning approach to extract key genomic features from nearly 500 ovarian cancer participants in the 100KGP, the AI model was able to predict survival rates post-treatment, with close to 70% accuracy,” the Wainwright analyst said in a note to clients.

Gold explorer Red Pine Exploration Inc (TSX-V:RPX, OTCQB:RDEXF) has said that all resolutions proposed at its annual and special meeting of shareholders, which was held on January 25 this year, were approved.

Silverton Metals Corp (TSX-V:SVTN, OTCQB:SVTNF) has announced the completion of geophysical 3D modeling of airborne electromagnetic data (Z‐Tipper Axis Electromagnetic, or ZTEM) and the start of a seismic survey profile at its 100%-owned Pluton silver-zinc-lead project in Mexico. The company noted the ZTEM processing and 3D-modeling have identified significant anomalies potentially related to metallic mineralization. The anomalies coincide with and reinforce six target areas previously identified. At Pluton, the company said it is exploring for Carbonate Replacement Deposits (CRD) similar to Excellon Resources (TSX:TSX:EXN) Inc.'s high-grade La Platosa silver mine and the nearby historic Ojuela Mine, which operated for over 350 years.

Pathfinder Ventures (TSX-V:RV) Inc has announced its commitment to support the evolving recreational vehicle (RV) industry and its future customers with electric RVs. The company noted that Winnebago Industries revealed plans earlier this month to build an electric camper van, while Thor Industries (NYSE:THO) shared a concept for an electric Airstream model. “Pathfinder Ventures (TSX-V:RV) is pledging to support electric RVs with charging stations and the required electrical infrastructure at each of our parks as they come available,” Pathfinder Ventures CEO Joseph Bleackley said in a statement.

Aurion Resources (TSX-V:AU) Ltd said its board of directors has authorized the granting of stock options under its Stock Option Plan to purchase 2,105,000 common shares of the company at an exercise price of $1.35 per share for a five-year term expiring January 24, 2027. The stock options are being granted to certain directors, officers, employees and consultants of the company.

Haywood Capital Markets has repeated a 'Buy' rating on junior explorer Red Pine Exploration Inc (TSX-V:RPX, OTCQB:RDEXF) after the company reported 2021 drill results from its Wawa gold project in Ontario. "We expect 2022 to be significantly more productive than 2021, now that four drill rigs are turning. Cash of approximately $10.5 million is sufficient to fund the program for now," Haywood analysts said in a note. The broker targets C$1.40 a share, which is a long way from Red Pine's current price of C$0.47 each. As reported by Red Pine on January 21, 2022, one hole hit a mineralized envelope covering 27.26 meters (m) 140m down-dip from the resource boundary in the northern part of the Surluga deposit in the Jubilee Shear zone, potentially expanding the current resource of the deposit.

Tribe Property Technologies Inc told investors it has partnered with premium dry cleaning and laundry services firm NextLevel Drycleaners to bring concierge laundry services and storage lockers for dry-cleaning pick-up and delivery to Tribe communities across the Lower Mainland in British Columbia. Melkior Resources Inc said that exploration work on its Val d’Or property in Quebec has indicated “strong targets” for it to explore in 2022. This year’s exploration program is expected to confirm the location of trenching and additional drill targets, the explorer told investors. In 2021, Timmins-based Melkior conducted drilling and surface exploration on the property. Drilling tested the western extensions of the Bruell series of showings, and the team collected 47 soil samples and 18 rock samples. The survey results helped define the four targets on the property.

For the period ended December 31, 2021, the Vancouver, British Columbia-based mining company reported estimated net revenue of C$19.9 million, compared to C$8,871 in the fourth quarter of 2020. Altaley also owns the Tahuehueto project in Durango, Mexico, where construction is 95% complete on its 1,000-tonne per day processing facility. Altaley is targeting initial pre-production in February 2022 and ramping up to full production capacity later in the year.

Hawkmoon Resources Corp (CSE:HM) has announced assay results for the final two drill holes from its 2021 drill program at the Midrim Showing on the Wilson gold project in Quebec’s Abitibi Greenstone Belt, which included 83.6 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over one metre. The company said the high-grade sample marks the discovery of a new gold zone at the Midrim, which is about 50 metres south of all previously-known gold mineralization at Midrim. “Discovering a new gold zone is an excellent way for Hawkmoon to cap off our first drill program at Wilson,” Hawkmoon Resources president Branden Haynes said in a statement.

Scottie Resources Corp has reported encouraging new drill results from the Blueberry zone on its Scottie Gold Mine project in British Columbia’s Golden Triangle. Highlights from the results include intercepts of 15.6 grams per ton (g/t) gold over 2.25 metres and 3.21 g/t gold over 10 metres. Vancouver-based Scottie told shareholders that the Blueberry Zone has become “one of the most significant areas of deposit growth on the property” and has more than quadrupled its strike length in the past nine months.

Snowline Gold Corp said it has uncovered a potentially "significant gold system" with the first hole of a four-hole program at its Valley bulk-tonnage gold target at the Rogue project in the Yukon. The hole averaged a grade of 1.01 grams per ton (g/t) gold over a width of 136.75 metres (m) starting from a depth of 35.25m. That was within a broader zone of mineralization averaging 0.85 g/t of the precious metal over 186m starting from 31.5m downhole. "This is Snowline's second significant drill discovery in as many drill programs in 2021," said Scott Berdahl, CEO of Snowline, in a statement. "We launched the company around the idea of an unrecognized gold district hiding in a relatively unexplored package of prospective rocks here in the Yukon's Selwyn Basin. Beyond our excitement for the Valley discovery itself, we are similarly excited at the implications these results have toward validating our district-scale exploration thesis. With two discoveries in hand and many additional prospective targets, we are eager to get started on our 2022 exploration season," he added.

Doré Copper Mining Corp has announced the approval of a fully funded 50,000 meter (m) drilling program at the Corner Bay and Devlin projects that will mainly focus on resource category conversion and test a number of exploration targets on the property. The projects are located in the Chibougamau mining camp, less than 55 kilometers (km) by road from the company's Copper Rand mill, near Chibougamau, Québec. “We have started a 45,000 meter drilling program at our flagship Corner Bay project with two drills, both infilling the deposit at a 60 meter spacing. A third drill is expected to arrive in early February. In addition, there will be an infill drilling program of approximately 5,000 meters at the nearby Devlin project,” said Doré Copper CEO Ernest Mast in a statement.

Aurelius Minerals Inc (TSX-V:AUL, OTCQB:AURQF) has reported encouraging drill results from its flagship Aureus East gold project in Nova Scotia, which it said continue to expand mineralization ahead of an updated resource for the property this quarter. Four holes were reported, which were drilled from surface, and showed strong continuity along strike to the east, in width to the south, and at depth. "Surface holes stepped to the east and south show that the mineralization remains open, intersecting gold at surface to more than 500m below surface. We are encouraged by the continuity, the widths and the grades of our intercepts as we conceptualize the mineability of the mineralized system," said Aurelius CEO Mark Ashcroft in a statement.

Amvest Capital Group Holdings LLC said it has partnered with Welsbach Holdings Pte Ltd to form a new energy material fund called Amvest-Welsbach New Energy Materials Fund I. The company said that the fund is an investment vehicle on financing the upstream and midstream development of new energy materials to meet the looming supply shortages and capture value resulting from the new energy transition and the reorganization of global supply chains of new energy materials. The fund expects to deploy at least US$100 million into the early-stage critical metals sector.

New Pacific Metals (TSX:NUAG, NYSE:NEWP) Inc said its board of directors has appointed Dr Rui Feng as the company's chief executive officer (CEO). Dr Feng is the founder of the company and served as its CEO until April 27, 2020. He has stepped down as the chairman of the New Pacific board and Terry Salman has been appointed as the chairman in his place. Dr Feng's return comes after New Pacific's board accepted the resignation of Dr Mark Cruise as the company's CEO and as a director. The company said it wished Dr Cruise well in his future endeavours.

OTC Markets Group Inc has announced the fourth quarter 2021 performance and quarterly rebalancing of the OTCQX and OTCQB indexes, including the OTCQX Canada Index and the OTCQX Dividend Index. The OTCQX Composite Index, a benchmark for the overall OTCQX Best Market, was up 3.5% in the fourth quarter. Forty-one new companies were added to the index. Forty-seven were removed from the index.

The Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE) has announced record market statistics for 2021. Trading activity reached record levels and CSE issuers raised more than $8 billion of aggregate capital, far exceeding any other annual total in the exchange’s history, according to a statement. “The Canadian Securities Exchange had its best year ever in 2021 by a wide margin,” said CSE CEO Richard Carleton in a statement.

Magna Mining Inc (TSX-V:NICU) said it has entered into a market-making agreement with Independent Trading Group (ITG), under ITG has agreed to provide market-making services to the company in accordance with the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange and applicable laws. The agreement is effective January 25, 2022, and has an initial term of three months, which will automatically extend for successive one-month terms unless terminated by either party on 30 days' prior notice. In consideration of the services under the agreement, ITG will receive compensation of $5,000 per month, payable monthly in advance, and will be paid by the company from its working capital resources. There are no performance factors contained in the Agreement and ITG will not receive shares, options or other securities as compensation. The capital used for market-making will be provided by ITG, and no third party will be providing funds or securities for the market-making activities.
