Melkior Resources Inc. (TSX-V:MKR) said that exploration work on its Val d’Or property in Quebec has indicated “strong targets” to explore in 2022.
This year’s exploration program is expected to confirm the location of trenching and additional drill targets, the explorer told investors.
In 2021, Timmins-based Melkior conducted drilling and surface exploration on the property. Drilling tested the western extensions of the Bruell series of showings, and the team collected 47 soil samples and 18 rock samples.

The survey results helped define the four targets on the property, according to a statement.
The 2022 program is expected to include surface follow-up on the multiple targets, cartography, and trenching and drilling over any well-defined potential source of the anomalies, Melkior said.
“The Val d’Or property provides the company with a good opportunity to make a grassroots discovery in an under-explored area of Quebec,” CEO Jonathon Deluce said in a statement. “Recent work continues to define the numerous targets, and recent M&A in the Val d’Or district highlights the continued exploration potential and interest from the intermediate and major producers.”
Melkior’s flagship Carscallen project is being advanced by Kirkland Lake Gold through a $110 million option and joint venture agreement. The firm is also focused on advancing its Val D’Or, White Lake and Maseres projects.
