Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK) has started constructing the all-weather multi-well pad for drilling of the Flames Well in the SWISH Area of Interest (AOI) in Oklahoma’s world-class Anadarko Basin.
Bulldozers, scrapers and excavators have been mobilised to the site with initial construction work progressing on schedule.
Team members from Brookside’s US subsidiary and manager of operations Black Mesa are regularly on-site monitoring progress and ensuring that construction of the pad and access road is completed safely, efficiently and within budget.
Third SWISH AOI well
Flames will be the third well in Brookside’s ‘core of the core’ holding in the SWISH Area of Interest (AOI) within the basin’s South-Central Oklahoma Oil Province (SCOOP).
It follows the high impact Jewell 13-12-1S-3W SXH1 and Rangers 36-2 SXH1 wells that have both provided the company and Black Mesa with strong indications of future production and growth.

At Rangers well preparations are being made for well completion operations with the large Kenai Rig 18 now released and being demobilised.
The completed multi-well pad at Flames drilling spacing unit (DSU) will be 475 feet x 475 feet (145 metres x 145 metres) in size and will facilitate all-weather working conditions.
Access to the pad will be from a local county road directly onto the well pad.
Multi-well pad
The Flames Well pad has been designed as a multi-well pad to accommodate both drilling and the large assembly of completion and stimulation equipment that will be required post drilling.
In addition, the design of the pad will allow for drilling of multiple wells in anticipation of future full field development of the Flames Unit.
Brookside has a ‘real estate development’ approach to acquiring prospective acreage in the basin and plans to value-add by consolidating leases and proving up oil and gas reserves.
Brookside has embarked on a potential five-year, 20-plus well development drilling program across its three operated development areas within the SCOOP Area of Interest.
