Mont Royal Resources Ltd (ASX:MRZ) is poised to begin its maiden fieldwork program at the recently acquired Tarku property on the Upper Eastmain Greenstone Belt in Quebec, Canada.
Ground electromagnetic surveying (EM) is due to start early next month and this is expected to generate drill targets.
The program will target TDEM and VTEM anomalies in the northwest and central areas of the property.
Furthermore, a detailed desktop study is underway at the Eastmain-Léran Project.
Ground EM survey
Mont Royal has engaged TMC Geophysics to undertake the ground EM survey which is expected to take about three weeks to complete.
Preliminary results are expected in March/April 2022 and IOS Services will be arranging all the required logistics, which include accommodation and helicopter support.
Mont-Royal plans to use EM geophysics, which is applicable for different commodities (base metals, polymetallic deposits, nickel sulphides and gold) and mineralisation styles, as a basis of its exploration strategy in the Upper Eastmain greenstone belt.
The company anticipates that this approach will deliver a clear pathway to discovery with drill targets to be generated by the survey.
Exploration interests
This exploration program will begin with a ground EM survey that will target the southern thrust zone on the western part of the Tarku referred to as Target-1.
The western part of Target-1 is characterised by a cluster of small heliborne EM anomalies distributed in the vicinity to the Colline du Chateau Fort gold occurrence along the Ruby Hill corridor.
The size and intensity of these anomalies are similar to that identified at the neighbouring Eastmain property where they were found related to the gold mineralisation, therefore the EM exploration survey initially will be focused on this part of Target-1.
Another target, defined as Target-2 represents a strong heliborne EM anomaly approximately in the middle of the Tarku property, where it is coincident with the gabbro intrusion.
The western flank of the intrusion is cut by a set of the east-northeast trending faults that are linked with Colline du Chateau Fort gold occurrence.
Desktop study at Eastmain-Léran
The Mont Royal geological team has started a desktop study of the Eastmain-Léran property that hosts numerous gold and base metal assets.
Notably, the objective of this study is to quickly define and prioritise the exploration targets, which will form the basis for an exploration program that has also been prepared for this property.
