MedX Health Corp revealed that it is now offering its DermSecure screening services at the Medicure clinic in Mississauga, Ontario - the first launch of its platform in a blended physician and pharmacy clinic setting in Canada.
Under the tie-up, Medx's scanning services are now available to the clinic's 5,000 existing family physician patients as well as walk-in patients through the on-site pharmacy.
Up to now, the medical device firm has been focused on multiple verticals, such as Medical Clinic and Building Hubs, Pharmacies, Medical Scanning Clinics, Esthetics and Skin Care Clinics.
"Our partnership with the Medicure Clinic provides early and rapid detection of melanoma and improves patient outcomes in a burdened healthcare climate," said Naman Demaghlatrous, MedX's managing director in a statement.

MedX also highlighted that implementing this physician- and pharmacy-based model with Medicure (TSX-V:MPH) served to "relieve the pressure facing their family physicians, allowing them to alleviate the stress of melanoma screening for their roster of patients in their practice quickly and efficiently".
MedX is a leader in teledermatology, which offfers virtual patient care and screening, rather than in-person appointments.
