Electra Battery Materials Corp CEO Trent Mell joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share news the company has signed a supply deal for battery recycling and cobalt sulphate with Japanese company Marubeni Corporation. Mell telling Proactive this deal includes sourcing of black mass derived from recycled lithium-ion batteries for Electra's Canadian refinery and marketing of Electra's cobalt sulphate in Japan. The agreement means Electra and Marubeni are committing to providing electric vehicle manufacturers and battery cell makers with high-quality, low carbon and traceable battery materials.
