Falcon Gold adds large land package in Newfoundland gold belt near Queensway and Gander North projects

The new acquisition includes 10,150 acres contiguous to the Gander North project owned by Sassy Resources, and 25 kilometres from New Found Gold’s flagship Queensway project

Falcon Gold Corp (TSX-V:FG, OTC:FGLDF) has added another 10,150 acres in the Gander North area of Newfoundland.

The company’s new land position is contiguous to the Gander North project owned by Sassy Resources (CSE:SASY, OTCQB:SSYRF), and 25 kilometres from New Found Gold’s flagship Queensway project.

The property, which consists of 406 claims, covers extensions or is proximal to the Dog Bay-Appleton-Grub Line fault system, a crustal scale fault zone that extends from the north coast of Newfoundland, southwest through Gander.

Falcon told shareholders that the structural corridors are “intimately associated” with recent gold discoveries such as Queensway. Northeast trending structural lineaments first recognized by Sassy Resources (CSE:SASY, OTCQB:SSYRF) to the immediate east are interpreted to continue onto the property, it added.

Exploration at Sassy’s Gander North project has returned results of up to 1,432 parts per billion (ppb) gold in northeast trending zones, according to Falcon.

"The Gander North property marks an exciting addition to our property portfolio - the recent soil sampling program released by Sassy Resources and world-renowned prospector Shawn Ryan is further proof that we continue to acquire land positions in highly prospective terrains, where our interpretations show a very high probability of a continuation of a structural system running through our ground,” Falcon CEO Karim Rayani said in a statement.

“We eagerly await the exploration permitting approvals and the start of our detailed high resolution magnetic surveys within our Gander project area."

Vancouver-based Falcon holds a portfolio of nine projects in the Americas.
