Canada Silver Cobalt Works Inc. (TSX-V:CCW) told investors that it expects to begin testing high-grade stamp mill tailings from the Beaver mine and the Castle mine in northern Ontario within four weeks once the gravity pilot plant is commissioned.
The company owns two of the three known high-grade silver stamp mill tailings in the prolific Gowganda cobalt camp.
The stamp tailings are a result of a previous method where lower-grade ore was processed by crushing the rock with stamps - heavy iron hammers that were dropped onto the ore to release high-grade native silver.
The limitation was it could not recover the silver in the sulfides, which is where the gravity pilot plant at Temiskaming Testing Labs will now come in.

Canada Silver Cobalt will use the plant to process the stamp tailings and waste rock into concentrate feed for its proprietary hydrometallurgical process known as Re-2Ox, which will allow for the creation of technical-grade cobalt sulphate as well as nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) formulations.
"The company will be emulating a successful historical development and business model used by previous mining companies in the Cobalt Camp that will potentially provide low-cost concentrate feed for the reintegrated Re-2Ox process," said Frank J Basa, CEO at Canada Silver Cobalt Works in a statement.
Canada Silver Cobalt's flagship silver-cobalt Castle mine and 78 square-kilometre Castle Property feature strong exploration upside for silver, cobalt, nickel, gold, and copper.
The firm says it is strategically positioned to become a Canadian leader in the silver-cobalt space.
