Bitcoin and Ethereum continue to languish as crypto’s downtrodden start to 2022 shows little sign of reversal

There was no shortage of sourness in the crypto market with 48 of the 50 most valuable cryptos trading in negative territory

Bitcoin slipped 2.1% lower to trade at US$41,791, hanging above key support levels near US$41,000.

Ethereum, meanwhile, gave up 3.4% to US$3,159.

The two top cryptos continue to languish some 35% below the all-time highs seen in November, but they’re not the only ones.

Alt-coins Solana, Terra, and Polkadot dropped 4.1%, 7.5%, and 6.7% respectively.

Outside the ‘top 10’ crypto chart the selling was evidently widespread as Polygon, Near Protocol, and Chainlink similarly sunk 8.3%, 8.7%, and 6.3%.

But the biggest declines came from Litecoin, Cosmos, and Fantom.

Doggy meme-coins Dogecoin and Shiba Inu eased 3.3% to US$0.164 and 4.4% to US$0.0000279, respectively.

There was no shortage of sourness in the crypto market with 48 of the 50 most valuable cryptos trading in negative territory.

Only Uniswap and Ethereum Classic were the anomalies to break the trend and mark some gains.
