Genflow Biosciences looks lively as it starts trading after London IPO

Shares were issued at a price of 8p in an oversubscribed placing to raise £3.7mln

Genflow Biosciences PLC got off to a positive start as it began life as a London-listed company, making it the first longevity-focused biotech ever to float in Europe.

The shares were issued at a price of 8p in an oversubscribed placing to raise £3.7mln as part of the initial public offering (IPO), giving the company a market cap of £23.4mln.

This quickly expanded as the share price jumped to 9.5% in early trading on Monday.

Genflow said in a statement that the IPO’s purpose is to raise the public profile and provide new funds for the company's expansion and long-term growth.

Founder and chief executive Dr Eric Leire said: "Genflow Biosciences' debut on the London stock market is a major step in the company's development and provides a strong foundation to carry out our long-term growth strategy. We are delighted with the strong support from a wide range of investors, to develop life-changing gene therapies to target the ageing process."
