Critical Resources Ltd (ASX:CRR) has encountered further visual massive and base metal sulphides in the sixth diamond drill hole (Hole 09) of its drilling campaign at Gibsons prospect of the Halls Peak project in northern New South Wales.
The visible sulphides were intersected between 56.2 metres and 61.5 metres downhole, and down to 138 metres – the deepest yet discovered – indicating the Halls Peak system may have more potential for mineralisation at depth.
“Highly mineralised system”
Critical Resources managing director Alex Biggs said: “Hole 09 represents a new opportunity to test mineralisation at Gibsons.
“To intersect massive base metal sulphides at depth again shows that the Halls Peak project is a highly mineralised system that warrants the time, effort and exploration activity currently taking place.
“We are very excited that drilling continues to discover new mineralised zones and look forward to further results.”
Drilling began at the Gibsons prospect after the Christmas break, constituting 2,500 metres of planned drilling, including a subsequent three-hole drill program at the Sunnyside prospect for 1,700 metres.
Hole 09 is part of step-out drilling, representing fresh mineralisation for the Halls Peak resource.
The diamond drill rig is drilling hole CRR21DD_08A, with assays from all previous cores awaiting testing at the ALS laboratory in Brisbane, expected shortly.
This drilling program is designed to confirm near-surface mineralisation and deeper targets to a maximum depth of up to 500 metres.
