Anson Resources Ltd (ASX:ASN) has moved to upgrade the resource base of its Paradox Lithium Brine Project in Utah with a major resource expansion sampling program designed to increase JORC-compliant indicated and inferred resources and support future production proposals.
The program will begin with re-entry of Long Canyon No2 (LC2) well to test the lithium grades, plus bromine, boron and iodine grades within the deeper Mississippian units, which are believed to contain a large super-saturated brine reservoir.
The Mississippian Units are 100 to 250 metres thick, compared to just 10 metres in the Paradox Clastic Zones. LC2 remains open from previous sampling, with the highest sample value to date of 253 parts per million (ppm) lithium recorded in this well.
Anson does not foresee any delays due to government permits, as the open nature of LC2 will allow for an extended re-entry sampling program which should enjoy quick approval.
New exploration targets
The resources expansion strategy is focused on existing targets across the Paradox Project area, but also on new claims to be added adjacent to the project.
New exploration targets have been confirmed for the Mississippian super-saturated brine, comprising 445 million tonnes to 1,000 million tonnes of brine, grading at 70-100 ppm lithium and 2,000-3,000 ppm bromine.
