Caracal Gold PLC (LSE:GCAT) today appointed Paul Reeves as chief financial officer and Riaan Lombaard as general manager (GM) of its Kenyan Kilimapesa Gold operations with effect from 1 February.
Reeves, who is a qualified chartered accountant, has financial experience across the mining sector, with roles including financial controller and financial consultant, mainly in Africa.
Lombaard, who is a qualified mining engineer with 25 years of experience in senior management and technical roles, has been a chief operating officer, global head of industry, GM, and operations manager across Africa and South America.
His focus at the Eastern-African gold producer includes managing the expansion programmes to the underground and open-pit operations, and the CIL processing plant as well as proposed new heap leach operations.
Lombaard will also oversee the diamond drilling and reverse circulation drilling programmes to help the company develop and expand its gold production.
The GM will also be the project director for Tanzania following Caracal’s recent acquisitions of Nyakafuru and Simba gold projects.
