Wizz Air prices €500mln bond offering

The budget airline will be using the funds for general purpose activites

Wizz Air today confirmed it is raising €500mln via a 2026 bond offering as it looks to continue expansion.

Describing the offering as oversubscribed, the budget airline said it was taking advantage of “robust financing markets and very attractive pricing,” and will use the funds raised for general purposes, which included the £300mln repayment of its Coronavirus (COVID-19) corporate financing facility.

"We are pleased to announce our second bond offering at even more attractive pricing levels compared to our debut offering last year," József Váradi, chief executive officer, said: "The proceeds will further support Wizz Air as it scales-up to become an even stronger low-cost player in the coming years."

Wizz Air’s credit is rated BBB by Fitch and Baa3 by Moody’s.

Shares in Wizz Air were down 1.13% to 4,327p in morning deals.
