Great Atlantic Resources Corp (TSX-V:GR) has updated investors on its exploration efforts at its flagship Golden Promise property in Newfoundland’s gold belt.
Drilling in 2021 occurred during the summer at the Jaclyn Zone and the Otter Brook Gold Showing. Great Atlantic completed two diamond drill programs totaling 2,971 metres, or 20 holes, at the targets.
So far, assays from the two drill holes received have confirmed high-grade gold in quartz veins in both holes, with intercepts of 238 grams per ton (g/t) gold over 0.40 metres in one and 75.5 g/t gold over 0.35 metres in another.

Gold assays and multi-element analyses are pending for drill core samples from six drill holes, Great Atlantic told shareholders.
Great Atlantic’s team are currently logging and sampling drill core from the recently completed 12-hole diamond drilling program at the Otter Brook Gold Showing, it added.
In addition, local soil samples within the central and northern regions of the wider property returned anomalous gold values with five scattered samples returning anomalous values in the 12-24 parts per billion range, according to the company, which is planning to follow up prospecting and rock/soil geochemical sampling at these sites during 2022.
Vancouver-based Great Atlantic's central Newfoundland gold properties are located near recent significant gold discoveries, including Marathon Gold’s Valentine project's Sokoman Minerals (TSX-V:SIC) Moosehead project and New Found Gold’s Queensway project.
