ReNeuron re-appoints Corteling as vice president of research

Corteling has 24 years of experience in medical research and drug discovery, across the academia, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries

ReNeuron Group PLC (AIM:RENE), the UK-based stem cell and exosome technologies company, has appointed Dr Randolph Corteling to head up the research team as its vice president.

Corteling, who is re-joining ReNeuron after leaving in 2020, will start his role on 3 March and report directly to the company’s chief executive.

Corteling has 24 years of experience in medical research and drug discovery, across the academia, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical industries.

He first joined ReNeuron in 2007 as a senior member of the research team and was appointed head of cell biology in 2011, where he established the company’s first exosome programmes, before he was later promoted to head of research.

"His knowledge and experience in the field of therapeutic exosomes and partnered programmes will be invaluable to us as we seek to continue to build and expand our exosome platform," said chief executive Olav Hellebø.

In 2020, Corteling started working at Evox Therapeutics – a private company focussed on exosome-based therapeutics for rare diseases – where he led its disease biology and exosome payloads teams.
