Irish businessman Eddie Jordan has teamed up with Partygaming co-founder Vikrant Bhargava to mount a potential bid for online gaming group Playtech PLC (AIM:PTEC), it has been reported.
Bhargava, who has a net worth estimated at around £0.5bn, was reported by the Sunday Times to have committed to part-financing the former Formula One boss’s gaming outfit JKO Play.
JKO is part of a consortium that was last week given more time to come up with a counter-bid to the 680p-a-share offer made for Playtech by Australia's Aristocrat Leisure.
In November, Jordan, who sold his F1 team in 2005, was reported to be working with US-based investor Centerbridge Partners on financing a £3bn offer.
Playtech last week postponed a shareholder meeting required to approve the deal, moving the deadline to February 2.
Since leaving Partygaming, Bhargava is now chief of investment company Veddis Ventures.
