Argo Blockchain PLC (LSE:ARB, OTCQX:ARBKF, NASDAQ:ARBK, ETR:0XP) said it increased the amount of monthly bitcoin mined in December and construction of its new ‘Helios’ cryptocurrency mining facility in Texas is on time to complete in the first half of this year.
Some 214 bitcoin or equivalent (BTC) were mined in the past month, the cryptocurrency miner told investors in a statement, up from 185 BTC the month before and 96 in December 2020.
For the whole of 2021, Argo said it mined 2,045 BTC and held 2,595 bitcoin or equivalent at the end of the year.

December’s haul of digital currency is worth £7.8mln (US$10.6mln), based on daily foreign exchange rates and cryptocurrency prices during the month, it added, down from £8.3mln in November.
The income was generated at a mining margin of approximately 83% for the month, compared to 86% in November.
Argo said the 200-megawatt mining facility in Dickens County, Texas, has a completed main structure, outside façade and roof, with the build out of essential infrastructure ongoing.
Chief executive Peter Wall said: “2021 has been a transformational year for both Argo and the cryptocurrency sector.
“We began development on our mining facility in Texas and we took Argo to NASDAQ. Our efforts allowed us to expand our global presence and we look forward to the year ahead and the opening of our mining facility in Dickens County, Texas.”
