Sativa Wellness gains food safety cannabis extraction certification

"We are pleased to again achieve further certifications to demonstrate the quality of the products we produce and the standards we adhere to," said the company's executive chairman Geremy Thomas

Sativa Wellness Group Inc (AQSE:SWEL, CSE:SWEL, OTC:SCNNF) said it gained an ISO 22000 certification for food safety in relation to cannabis extraction at its plant in Poland.

The plant also passed the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) requirements, including good hygiene and manufacturing practice.

Sativa also received the certification scope focused on the production of plant extracts.

"We are pleased to again achieve further certifications to demonstrate the quality of the products we produce and the standards we adhere to," said Sativa executive chairman Geremy Thomas.

ISO 22000 is a food safety standard that differentiates between safe and unsafe food, while its food safety management standard helps companies identify and control food safety hazards.

HACCP also aids the management of food safety hazards, as food safety management procedures are meant to be based on HACCP principles.
