OptiBiotix Health PLC (AIM:OPTI) said it achieved accreditation for its probiotic and prebiotic products from the British Retail Consortium (BRC), which means it becomes recognised as meeting the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) benchmark.
Obtaining the GFSI means the company’s products can be accepted by many of the world's biggest retailers, such as Tesco and Walmart.
The BRC accreditation incorporates food safety management systems and internationally accepted best practice to ensure the safety and quality of products and in doing so reduces the risk of recalls.
OptiBiotix said the certification ensures customers have confidence in its products and allows the company to do business with the many retailers, manufacturers, ingredients companies and food service organisations which specify GFSI certification as part of their approval process.
It incorporates food safety management systems and internationally accepted best practice to ensure the safety and quality of products and in doing so reduces the risk of recalls.
