Chamberlin PLC awarded £800,000 contract

The company said its strategy is to focus on its manufacturing competency for large, complex castings and aggressively pursuing growth opportunities within the infrastructure, environmental, and renewable energy markets

Chamberlin PLC (AIM:CMH) said its steel and iron foundry in Scunthorpe won an order to make components for a major infrastructure project in London.

The West-Midlands-based iron castings and engineering group said the order won by its Russel Ductile Castings (RDC) arm was valued at approximately £800,000 and is set to be completed this year.

Production of the components is expected to begin next month, while the board anticipates RDC’s fourth-quarter performance to benefit from the raised revenues.

The company said its strategy is to focus on its manufacturing competency for large, complex castings and aggressively pursuing growth opportunities within the infrastructure, environmental, and renewable energy markets.

This order will enhance the company’s order book for the ongoing financial year and attributes the award of its additional contract to its ingrained strategy.

Its shares rose 2% to 7.77p following the news during Tuesday’s early deals.
