Ferrexpo appoints private equity veteran as new independent non-executive director

“Following the appointment of Ms. Polischuk, the group's board will comprise eight directors, three of which are female," said the company's chair Lucio Genovese

Ferrexpo PLC (LSE:FXPO), which claims it is the third-largest global exporter of high-grade iron ore pellets in the steel industry, has announced the appointment of Natalie Polischuk as an independent non-executive director.

Polischuk, who is an economist based in Kyiv, has worked in the financial sector with various senior roles at private equity funds in Ukraine and the wider Eastern Europe region.

“We understand the importance of achieving the correct balance of both experience and geography on our board, with our operating base in Ukraine and listing in London, and we feel the addition of a further independent non-executive director based in Ukraine will provide the group with an excellent balance of these two jurisdictions,” said Lucio Genovese, Ferrexpo chair.

“Following the appointment of Ms. Polischuk, the group's board will comprise eight directors, three of which are female, with this appointment also increasing the group's number of independent directors to five," Genovese said.

Polischuk recently spent seven years heading Advent International’s Ukraine office, a worldwide private equity firm, helping develop transactions for the company’s Central and Eastern European US$1bn fund.

She graduated from the University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, before completing a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

Genovese went on to add that the new appointment comes at a pivotal time for the company as it looks to further grow its business in the coming years.
