Vuzix Corporation (NASDAQ:VUZI) said it has struck an agreement with Verizon Communications Inc to leverage the power of Verizon's 5G and edge computing technologies to deliver a first-of-its-kind augmented reality experience for sports and gaming. The Rochester, New York-based company said the agreement between Vuzix and Verizon will focus on the technology advancement and commercialization aspects of delivering immersive augmented reality training experiences powered by Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband service and edge compute platform and Vuzix Shield smart glasses, a CES 2022 Innovation Awards honoree. The agreement will leverage a proof-of-concept program that was completed earlier this year, which demonstrated the power of Verizon's 5G and edge computing platform to run applications using Vuzix smart glasses to deliver “improved response time, longer battery life, and increased computing capacity,” said the company.
TRACON Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:TCON) Inc has shared positive results from the Independent Data Monitoring Committee (IDMC) review of interim safety and efficacy data from its ongoing ENVASARC pivotal trial for envafolimab in soft tissue sarcoma, a rare type of cancer that begins in the tissues. The San Diego company, which utilizes a capital-efficient product development platform to develop its clinical-stage pipeline of cancer therapies, said that for the ongoing ENVASARC pivotal trial, the IDMC recommended “continued accrual as planned in both cohort A of single agent envafolimab, and cohort B of envafolimab given with Yervoy (ipilimumab).” The IDMC reviewed interim safety and efficacy data from 18 patients enrolled into each cohort who completed a minimum of 12 weeks of efficacy evaluations (two on-treatment scans). The objective response rate (ORR) by blinded independent central review (BICR) in each cohort satisfied the prespecified futility rule,” said the company.
Progressive Planet Solutions Inc (TSX-V:PLAN) revealed that it has signed a binding share purchase agreement to acquire Absorbent Products Ltd., which produces industrial minerals from two mines in British Columbia, in a $16.3 million deal, made up of $13.3 million in cash and assumption of debt, and $3 million in equity. Vancouver, British-Columbia-based Progressive Planet, which creates supplementary cementing materials, said the cash component would consist of bank financing and proceeds of a concurrent private placement. It added that the equity portion would be paid by issuing $1.2 million in shares at the time of closing, at a price of $0.35 per share, with $900,000 in equity being issued one year from the date of closing, and $900,000 in equity being issued a year later.
Harbor Custom Development Inc said it has closed on the sale of 30 developed lots in the Summit Rock golf course development in Horseshoe Bay Texas to Modern Homestead, LLC for $6,045,000. Following the sale, Harbor said it will maintain 78 developed lots in the Summit Rock development and anticipates beginning construction on multiple single-family homes in 2022. “We continue to execute on our stated business objectives by monetizing our real estate assets early in the development cycle,” said Sterling Griffin, president and CEO of Harbor Custom Development in a statement.
