It's Chriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiistmas (Eve) - and that means a half-day for the stock market

The corporate agenda is understandably threadbare but watch out for companies hoping to bury bad news

Friday is Christmas Eve so traders will be knocking off even earlier on a Friday than they normally do.

It’s a good day to bury bad news, as the saying goes, as no one will be paying much attention to the newswires so one has to wonder why Sequoia Infrastructure actually scheduled its interims for Christmas Eve.

Similarly, Abingdon Health and Origo Partners (AIM:OPP) could perhaps have chosen better days to hold their annual general meetings, even if they are being held virtually these days.

I expect it is too much to expect the chair of either company to dress up as Noddy Holder and start the AGM by bellowing “It’s Chriiiiiiiiiiiiiiistmas!”

Significant announcements expected

Interims: Sequoia Economic Infrastructure Income Fund Ltd

AGMs: Abingdon Health Limited, Origo Partners PLC

Economic data: U. of Michigan Confidence (US)
