Shares in Yourgene Health PLC gained 4% after the molecular diagnostics group revealed it won another contract from the government to support Coronavirus (COVID-19) testing.
In a statement, the company said its subsidiary Yourgene Genomic Services (YGS) will provide laboratory capacity to the Winter Surge COVID-19 testing by the Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC), which will run until 31 March 2022.
This is the third DHSC contract Yourgene has been awarded this year under the Public Health England National Microbiology Framework Agreement. The previous two awards include the COVID-19 PCR surge testing announced in August and the recent UKHSA sequencing contract which was announced last week.
Yourgene chief executive Lyn Rees said: "This is another strong endorsement of our progress and we are pleased to be able to support the nation's COVID testing effort.
“Actual value for this contract will depend on the services purchased, with no committed spend at this moment in time, but we look forward to updating shareholders on the progress over time."
Shares in Yourgene climbed over 4% to 12.75p in midmorning trade.
