Moho Resources Ltd (ASX:MOH) has discovered several bedrock gold anomalies through aircore drilling at Tyrell and Hodges prospects of the Silver Swan Project in Western Australia.
These prospects were identified with follow-up drilling for a gold-in-soil geochemical anomalism identified in 2020.
At Tyrell prospect an 800-metre long structurally controlled, mineralised corridor has been identified, described as a main bedrock anomaly about one-kilometre north-northeast of the East Sampson Dam gold deposit.
Drilling at Tyrell encountered multiple sub 0.8 g/t gold hits, associated with quartz veining and iron oxide. The best intersections include:
- 8 metres at 1.05 g/t gold from 48 metres, including 4 metres at 1.54 g/t from 48 metres;
- 8 metres at 0.57 g/t from 52 metres;
- 8 metres at 0.56 g/t from 16 metres; and
- 4 metres at 0.88 g/t from 36 metres.
At Hodges, mineralisation is associated with footwall dolerite and ultramafic contact with the chlorite-silica alteration, proximal to the shear zone. Assays of note include:
- 12 metres at 0.74 g/t gold from 48 metres, including 1-metre at 1.67 g/t from 59 metres;
- 12 metres at 0.57 g/t from 12 metres; and
- 1-metre at 0.62 g/t from 47 metres to the end of hole.
“Results very encouraging”
“These aircore drilling results are very encouraging and suggest that that the Tyrells and Hodges prospects could make a significant addition to the interim mineral resource estimate at East Sampson Dam,” Moho Resources managing director Shane Sadleir said.
The company will now undertake:
- Reverse circulation drilling of Omrah and Wise nickel targets (in progress);
- Diamond rig to test EM conductor at Omrah and EIS stratigraphic drilling (anticipated mid-January, but subject to confirmation of rig availability);
- Undertake RC and aircore drilling to test depth and strike extensions of gold anomalism at Tyrells and Hodges (Q1 2022);
- Aircore drilling to test soil auger gold anomalies on E27/528 and P27/2232 (H1 2022); and
- Soil sampling/auger drilling to test for soil gold and nickel anomalies in recently granted E27/623 (H1 2022).
