Recruiter.com releases 2022 job market predictions, says importance of talent will continue to grow

The importance of talent will continue to grow in 2022 and employers will invest heavily in talent acquisition and retention

Recruiter.com Group Inc has released its predictions for the 2022 job market as 2021 comes to a close after the unprecedented 'Great Recession'.

The New York-based recruiting solutions company said that the importance of talent will continue to grow in 2022 and employers will invest heavily in talent acquisition and retention.

"We've been ahead of the curve when it comes to hiring and job market trends, thanks to our network of talent acquisition professionals who take part in our monthly Recruiter Index Survey,” Recruiter.com CEO Evan Sohn said in a statement.

"Month after month, employee priorities have been shifting, and the overall value of talent continues to be a top priority for businesses of all sizes. It truly is a candidates' market, and I don't see that changing in 2022," he continued. "Employers that recognize and invest in recruiting and retaining talent will be rewarded with greater efficiency and productivity."

A full breakdown of Recruiter.com's 2022 predictions can be found here: https://www.recruiter.com/i/recruiter-coms-6-recruiting-predictions-for-2022/

Recruiter.com has made six overall predictions for the new year:

  • A tight job market through at least the first half of 2022
  • Remote or hybrid work becomes the new normal
  • Work-from-anywhere morphs into hire-from-anywhere
  • Work-life balance for employees grows in importance
  • Diversity of all kinds will continue to be a focus
  • Community will become more important to business and take on new forms

Recruiter.com noted that there were 6.9 million unemployed people in November 2021. “The story of companies struggling to fill open positions will continue at least through the first half of 2022. Because of this, much of the hiring will be competitive as well,” the company said.

It emphasized that people are looking for flexibility in working conditions when looking for new jobs. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, many employees now realize the benefits of flexible remote work and prioritize that when searching for new jobs.

If companies want to attract the best talent, they’ll need to listen to what their employees want and align their culture with their working styles, the company said.

Recruiter.com said that employees will be spread out through different time zones and countries as companies realize they have access to the top talent anywhere. Instead of hiring in New York, companies can now hire someone in Florida, Texas, or even from a different country.

Employees are also looking for perks to help them balance their work and personal life stress. Many employees are also looking for companies that will promote initiatives on assisting employees’ mental health, the company noted.

The company said that another factor fueling the Great Resignation is employees wanting a company that focuses on diversity. According to one survey, 75% of executives said they would leave their company to find a company with diversity initiatives.

With many companies switching to a remote workforce in 2019 due to the pandemic, there are close to two years’ worth of college graduates who have never worked in a traditional office setting. As more companies work remotely, more people from the younger generation will only know remote work as the new normal, the company said in its report. Because of this, many businesses and managers will have to find ways to mentor their young employees.
