Volt Resources Ltd (ASX:VRC) has appointed three key senior executives to assist in growing the newly acquired Zavalievsky Group of companies in the Ukraine.

The company has appointed critical minerals expert Dmytro Nikulin to the position of chief executive officer of the ZG Group.

At Zavlievsky Graphite, experienced legal and project management professional Roman Saramaga has been appointed as a director.

Furthermore, senior financial executive Pavlo Yamko has taken up the role of chief financial officer.

“Improved performance and growth”

Volt managing director Trevor Matthews said: “Volt is very pleased with the calibre and experience of the senior executives the Zavalievsky business has been able to attract.

“The appointments of Dmytro, Roman and Pavlo combined with other management changes are positioning the Zavalievsky business for improved performance and growth underpinned with strong governance principles.”

Chief executive officer

Dmytro Nikulin has significant experience in critical minerals mining and processing projects and has held senior positions in mineral sands mines and chemical production facilities.

Notably, Nikulin was an adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine on industrial issues and was responsible for developing a number of decarbonisation and green transition initiatives.

He graduated from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a Production Management and Economics qualification specialising in scientific research and development work.

Director

Roman Saramaga has more than 15 years of experience as a legal and project management professional with substantial experience with international companies including direct experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Mining, Construction and Government Relations.

Before joining the Zavalievsky Group, Saramaga served as deputy head of the Ukrainian Geological Survey (national agency responsible for geology and mineral resource development) where he was involved in mining licensing, geological exploration and modernisation of resource industry legislation.

In addition, he also launched the strategic partnership between the European Union and Ukraine on critical raw materials and batteries.

Chief financial officer

Pavlo Yamko brings 13 years of experience with an international audit and accounting firm combined with senior accounting and finance roles with multi-national companies, most recently with Samsung Electronics (KRX:005930).

Yamko has a Master’s degree in International Economics and is completing a PhD at the Ukrainian State University of Finance and International Trade.

About ZG acquisition

Volt has signed binding share purchase agreements with existing shareholders of the ZG Group in Eastern Europe to acquire a 70% interest in each of the three companies comprising the ZG Group – Zavalievsky Graphite LLC, Stone Found LLC and Graphite Invest LLC.

The graphite mine and processing facilities are adjacent to Zavallya, around 280 kilometres south of the Ukraine capital Kyiv, and 230 kilometres north of Odessa’s main port.

The Zavalievsky mine’s strategic location for the future supply of SPG to the European markets has already attracted interest from LIB cell manufacturers and major carmakers.
