Metal Energy Corp said it has appointed Kevin Canario as the company's chief financial officer.
Most recently, Canario was corporate controller of Battle North Gold Corp where he was instrumental in the eventual sale of the Bateman gold project.
Prior to this, Canario was the CFO of INV Metals Inc (TSX:INV). and worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP for five years within the mining assurance practice managing audits for a variety of publicly listed clients ranging from small exploration to large multiasset operations. Canario holds a CPA, CA and honours bachelor of commerce from McMaster University, Canada.

Metal Energy and the Ore Group also announced the retirement of Jeff Potwarka, the company's outgoing CFO. The entire Ore Group team said it thanked Potwarka for his dedication and many years of service to the team and company's shareholders and wished him the best in his future endeavours.
The company also announced that, in accordance with its stock option plan, it has granted a total of 450,000 incentive options to officers, directors and consultants of the company, at an option price of 20 cents per share, exercisable for a period of five years from the date of issue.
Metal Energy is a well-financed nickel and battery metal exploration company with two projects, Manibridge and Strange, in the politically stable jurisdictions of Manitoba and Ontario, Canada, respectively.
Both projects are subject to earn-in agreements where the company can acquire 100% exploration rights to approximately 16,200 hectares.
