HighGold Mining reports latest drill results from Alaska project, including one hole which it says will improve resource

The drill program was completed in October this year and, so far, assays for 19 of 44 holes have been released

HighGold (TSX-V:HIGH, OTCQX:HGGOF) Mining Inc has unveiled more encouraging drill results from its high-grade Johnson Tract (JT) polymetallic gold project in Alaska, including one hole which it said will improve the current mineral resource.

The hole in question was sunk at the JT deposit and hit "much wider and higher-grade gold mineralization than the nearest historic drill holes", noted HighGold (TSX-V:HIGH, OTCQX:HGGOF). The highlight was an intercept of 84.7 metres (m), starting from a depth of 66.3m, which showed 8.9 grams per ton (g/t) of gold-equivalent, with 4.72 g/t of the yellow metal and 6.7 g/t of silver.

The drill program was completed in October this year and, so far, assays for 19 of 44 holes have been released.

"We continue to be impressed by the strength of the mineralizing system at Johnson Tract," said HighGold (TSX-V:HIGH, OTCQX:HGGOF) CEO Darwin Green in a statement.

He told investors that that hole was a "prime" example of the "exceptional width and tenor of mineralization at JT".

Another hole was completed around 400m down-plunge of the highlightlighted hole, "well outside" the current resource, and that showed both the continuity and spectrum of mineralization styles present at the JT deposit, added Green. Assays from that hole included eight metres at 4 g/t gold-equivalent, starting from a depth of 319.5m and 1.5m at 12.3 g/t gold-equivalent, from 236.5m.

The company noted that the gold-copper-zinc-silver-lead mineralization associated with the JT Deposit had now been defined over a total strike length of 600m and remains open along strike to the northeast and southwest, and at depth.

The true thickness of the JT deposit typically ranges from 20m to 50m, it added.

The JT deposit already hosts an indicated resource of 2.14 million tonnes (Mt) grading 10.93 g/t of gold equivalent and an updated estimate is planned for the first quarter of 2022.

This new resource estimate will include 30,000m of new drilling completed in 2020 and 2021 since the last estimate.

The 21,000-acre district-scale Johnson Tract asset includes the high-grade Johnson Tract deposit and at least nine other mineral prospects over a 12 kilometre (km) strike.
