Moho Resources enhances Crossroads prospectivity with gold results from diamond drilling and silver to boot

“We’re very pleased with the outcome of the diamond drilling which has enhanced the gold prospectivity at Crossroads”, says MD

Moho Resources Ltd (ASX:MOH) has made strong progress with exploration at Crossroads Prospect within the Burracoppin Gold Project in Western Australia and is encouraged by assay results from diamond drilling.

The company’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) co-funded diamond drilling program has enhanced gold prospectivity at Crossroads with notable assays including:

  • 0.89 metres at 0.79 g/t gold from 75.91 metres;
  • 1-metre at 0.49 g/t from 29.2 metres; and
  • 1-metre at 0.41 g/t from 55.5 metres.

Interestingly, Moho has also intersected significant silver mineralisation across three holes including 2.4 metres at 8.50 g/t silver from 12.4 metres.

“Gold prospectivity”

Moho managing director Shane Sadlier said: “We’re very pleased with the outcome of the diamond drilling which has enhanced the gold prospectivity at Crossroads.

“The silver anomalism is intriguing and suggests that other styles of mineralisation may be present in the area.

“The geochemical review reinforces the gold prospectivity and provides sound guidance for our future drilling activities around the Crossroads prospect.

Diamond drilling

Moho’s diamond drill program has been designed with the following aims:

  • Obtain high-quality core to study geology more closely and refine Crossroads geological model, which can feed into any future drill program designs and resource modelling;
  • Reconciliation of rock type and geochemical zones identified by earlier RC drilling with lithology, alteration, structures and textures seen in the diamond drill core;
  • Identify the orientation and nature of structures controlling the mineralisation; and
  • Apply these findings to subsequent exploration programs.

To date, four-diamond holes were completed for a total of 630 metres with a co-funded drilling grant of up to $147,000 provided by the Western Australian Government under the Exploration Incentive Scheme, of which Moho has received $120,000.

Notably, the bedrock gold mineralisation at Crossroads remains open to the north, west and at depth.

Review of results

Consultant geochemist Richard Carver from GCXplore Pty Ltd has reviewed the data generated by drilling programs to date in the context of the existing auger soil sampling.

Positive review of drilling results by consultant geochemist include:

  • General grade and nature of diamond drilling intersections confirm previous RC drilling;
  • Broad, > 50 metres thick anomalous gold zone confirmed on the western side of Crossroads prospect;
  • Potential remains for further gold discoveries as large areas of anomalism remain untested; and
  • Prioritised drill program recommended testing outstanding auger gold anomalies.

Forward plan

  • Undertake follow up aircore drilling around Crossroads prospect on E70/4688;
  • Commence first pass geochemical sampling across E70/5739;
  • Await hylogger spectral data from Geological Survey of WA on diamond drilling to assist the geological and structural interpretation; and
  • Follow up priority regional stream sediment geochemical targets.
